So after a good year of searching for the right band members and organizing repertoire + live setup and a SAMA nomination under the belt, I am proud to announce that Abbott Nu Jazz is complete and ready to hit the stage. The first show as a full band is booked for Friday the 13th (Moehaha!!!!) of April at Hout Bay Harbour Market. The Market will be staying open a lil later than usual on that night. So don't ask me why, but the hardcore rockstars from Fokofpoliesiekar requested some mellow jazz at the bassists (Wynand) wedding saturday past. Abbott Acoustic had the privilege to perform at this wedding and had a great time. These hard rockers are actually a really pleasant bunch of people. Once again The Abbott Network and miss Lindiwe Suttle hit the stage in Jozi. This time at the blues room. What a fantastic gig it was. I must say .... I have always been more keen on Cape Town, but one thing is for sure.... The Jozi crowd is allot more supportive when it comes to watching live bands. Even though I still prefer my home "Cape Town"..... the Cape Town "to cool for school"crowd can learn a little something from the Jozi people when it comes to socializing. Continue reading ...
After Jozi we all had about 3h sleep and had to catch our plane back to Cape Town where we performed for Sol Kurzner in Penthouse one at the One And Only Hotel. Man is that a larny jol or what. So The Abbott Network and Lindiwe Suttle performed together at the Mandela Foundation Galla dinner at the Sandton Convention center. What a treat.Had a couple of great laughs while getting tipsy after our show which was a fantastic success. Celebs and rich folk really make me laugh.
